About Sharif

Sharif is a data driven marketer and enthusiastic leader with an extensive background in social business design, content marketing, community management, social listening & insights, & leading high performing teams. From bringing social enablement to B2C retail teams and B2B sales teams, to creating fully integrated social customer service queues; he has developed and implemented several enterprise social business programs used today by Fortune 500 companies. His local (retail) social efforts and innovations are featured in the book “The Connected Company” by Dave Gray, Former SVP of Strategy at Dachis Group.

He is currently leading the social business efforts, strategy, and team for Grainger: Inclusive of a best in class B2B social service program, social sales for B2B sales teams, internal social collaboration & others. His team is driven to enhance the customer experience with the brand through social; by way of building a stronger sense of community within social channels, & optimizing content marketing efforts. His work also scales internationally as he has worked to develop the brand’s global social strategy, and works with other countries on social programs daily. Lastly Sharif leads an enterprise social listening program with the implementation of a social command center powered by salesforce.com technology – curating social data & feeding valuable business insights into the back into the organization.

Prior to Grainger, Sharif was responsible for the leadership & strategy of the Social Media team for U.S. Cellular. He drove key programs that delivered best in class customer service through social platforms, developed innovative approaches to building online relationships with customers & prospects, and leveraged customer advocacy as a marketing channel for the business. His team was accountable for the delivery of cutting edge digital experiences with engaging social components that drove brand awareness, new customer acquisition & aided in customer retention.

On a more personal note, Sharif is a loving husband and proud father to two beautiful girls who provide his daily inspiration.  In his free time Sharif is an avid BBQer, cyclist, and overall outdoor enthusiast.
